Lady Gators Fall in Region Tournament

On Saturday, the Lady Gators traveled over to South Effingham High School to compete in the 2017-2018 GHSA Class 5 AAAAA Region Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Gator would have to finish in the top two in order to have a chance to advance to the GHSA State Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Gator's volleyball season came to an end as they lost in the single elimination tournament. The Lady Gators lost to Statesboro High in two straight games by the scores of 25-11 and 25-13. "We struggled in every part of the game," said Coach Alesia Gibson. "Although we fell short, I am proud of these young ladies and the way they played hard all season." Morgan Wootten once said, "You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going." "So as a coach and a team, that is what we will do. We will strive to keep going and learn from our mistakes and mishaps from this past season," said Coach Gibson.

On a side note, I would like to thank these four seniors for their hard work and dedication to our Lady Gator's Volleyball Program for the past four years. Even though your VB season has come to an end, you are about to complete another milestone in your life. You are about to graduate from high school, and I would like to wish you all the best of luck with your future endeavors. No goodbyes, just see you later, GATORS!
