THe Ware County Lady Gators rolled into the Marshes of Glynn and made the Red Terror walk the plank. Ware improved to 4-0 on the season by beaty the Lady Red Terror 47-40. The Lady Gators led the entire game outscoring Glynn 18-17 in the first before taking a 25-19 lead into the locker room. The Red Terror kept it close down the wire matching Ware in the third quarter 10-10. The Lady Gators took the fourth quarter 12-11 and held on for the victory.
Mataea Boyd was red hot for the Lady Gators pouring in a game high 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead Ware. Shondell Vickers tossed in 9 points with 3 blocked shots. Kennedy Sanders had 6 points with 5 steals and 2 assists. Other scorers for the Lady Gators include Chyna Bacon and Arviniece McDonald with 5 points each, Lizzie Shubert with 3 points and Waynesha Coleman with 2 points.
The Lady Gators travel to Douglas next Saturday to take on the Lady Trojans of Coffee County. Tipoff is set for 6:00
The JV Lady Gators got their first win of the season as they edged Glynn Academy in the opener 24-19. Ware opened up a 8-2 lead in the first quarter and kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second quarter taking a 13-4 lead in the locker room at the half. Glynn mounted a come back in the third outscoring the Gators 7-3, but Ware held on for 24-19 victory.
The Lady Gators will travel to Coffee County on Saturday December 10 to take on Trojans at 3:30.
