The Ware County Lady Gators raced out to a 35-7 halftime lead and never looked back as they improved to 3-0 on the season with a blistering 61-13 victory over visiting Bacon County. Ware held a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and then put their foot on the gas pedal and outscored Bacon 19-0 in the second quarter to hold a 35-7 lead at the half.
Ware came out in the third just as hot, outscoring Bacon 18-2 in the third before clearing the bench in the fourth to easliy defeat the Red Raiders 61-13 in the Lady Gators home opener.
The Lady Gators were led by Mataea Boyd, Chyna Bacon and Wanesha Coleman who all three had double figures. Boyd led the Lady Gtors with 17 points, followed by Bacon with 12 and Coleman with 10. Also scoring were Rodniqua Davis 8, Shondell Vickers 7, Kennedy Sanders 3, Lizzie Shubert 3 and Latreona Holmes with 1 point. Coleman hauled in 4 rebounds while Boyd led the Lady Gators with 4 steals.
The Lady Gators improve to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Brunswick Friday night to take on Glynn Academy in a non-region contest. Tip-off is set for 6:00.
