The Ware County Lady Gators tennis team picked up an important region win today against New Hampstead.
After struggling in the first set, Raiven Green calmed down and took over the match at 1 singles, winning 7-5, 6-1.
At 2 singles, Morgan Porter cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
At 3 singles, Ralicia Green won her first ever varsity match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
The 1 doubles team of Megan Tyre and Jayme Russell dominated their opponents to a score of 6-1, 6-0.
At 2 doubles, Haley Cannon and Maggie Tyre played their best tennis to date, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Our next match is our final regular season region match, next Thursday, at home, against Statesboro.
Ware Boys Tennis traveled to Savannah to face New Hampstead in region action, and they brought home a win to improve to 2-1 in region competition.
Matthew Bagley won (6,0)(6,0) at the number one singles position. Number two singles Bailey Tatum made short work of his opponent (6,2)(6,0). Brock Anderson rounded out the singles column with a win in straight sets.
Both doubles teams finished the day on top. Dawson Goddard/Gabion Hardy and Maddox Hall/Ladue Raulerson finished with the win for a final team score of 5-0.
Ware will face Bacon County at The Swamp next Tuesday.
