Ware Tennis Teams Split with South Effingham

Boys Results:

Ware Boys shiver through cold temps and high winds for a region win against South Effingham.

 
Matthew Bagley won in straight sets (6,0)(6,4)
Brock Anderson lost in straight sets at the number 2 singles position.
Bailey Tatum lost in straight sets at three singles.

The real action was on the doubles end of the court with both doubles matches going into a third set.  Dawson Goddard and Joe Robertson picked up the win with a final score of (6,1)(4,6)(6,3).

The match came down to the number two doubles team of Maddox Hall and Ladue Raulerson. After dropping the first set, they battled back to win two sets in a row and bring home the victory for the Gators.  Their final score was (5,7)(6,4)(7,6)8-6. 

The Gators travel to New Hampstead Thursday for another region match.  The Gators are now 1-1 in region play as they mov forward.

 

Girls Resluts:

The Ware County Lady Gator tennis team lost today against top region foe South Effingham. 

At 1 singles, Raiven Green lost to Makaylah Pevey 1-6, 1-6. 

At 2 singles, Mabry Rigdon lost to Logan Edwards 0-6, 1-6. 

At 3 singles, Annabeth Hatfield played really well, but came up just short to Kearsetyn Bergeron 3-6, 3-6. 

At 1 doubles, Jayme Russell and Megan Tyre lost to Kayla Rogers and Mallori Jenkins 0-6, 3-6. 

At 2 doubles, Maggie Tyre and Haley Cannon lost to Mackenzie Dennison and Lauren Bishop 2-6, 0-6. 

Our next match is Thursday, away, against region opponent New Hampstead.
