Ware opened up the scoring two minutes into the match, when Julio Nataren scored in the box after collecting a well placed cross from Ashton Musgrove. The teams would play fairly level for the next 25 minutes, when Julio Nataren took the ball from a Thomas County defender, and found a lane to score. The half ended with Ware up 2-0. Within the first nine minutes of the second half, Ware score again, when Julio Nataren headed a ball towards Yerlin Guardado, who struck the ball low, and into the net.
The match went back and forth for the next 20 minutes, When, with 8 minutes left, Ashton Musgrove tackled the ball away from a Thomas Central midfielder, and carried the ball into the box before striking the ball home. Up 4-0, Ware was able to find the net one last time, when Jack Teston made a great pass through the defenders to Zarques Harrell, who had made a run behind his defender, Zarques collected the pass, and put the ball into the net, putting Ware up 5-0, which was the final. While not on the score sheet, other noteworthy performances were put in by Parker Dickson, Justin Lucas, Chris Delgadillo, Bryan Hernandez, and Noah Shepard.
This was a big win, continuing on the momentum we built with those wins to close out last season. We were able to get solid minutes for everyone, and to get a good look at our team in game conditions. We will spend the weekend reviewing our film, and gear up for our season opener, which is next Tuesday, at Memorial Stadium, as we play host to Colquitt County.
